The Black Panthers Figure Skating Club is one of the largest, oldest and most successful ice skating clubs in South Africa. The club is a member of the South African Figure Skating Association.
The Club offers group ice skating lessons to skaters from as young as 4 years old. These ice skating classes are run at 14 different levels ranging from Pre-beginners to Intermediate 4, and skaters can progress at their own pace.
Once the basics have been mastered, skaters can proceed to join the synchronized skating class and also choose to join the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and receive coaching from other professional coaches to further their skating careers.

There are also no age limitations for becoming a member of our club, however, we recommend that children only begin skating from age 4+. Our History
In the past, our Synchronized Skating Team competed as the South African Novice Champions. We now have an introductory team which prepares skaters for the Western Province squad. The club has competed with success nationally and internationally. A number of solo skaters who began their skating careers with our club have won many solo, dance and synchronized skating national titles. They have also competed in international competitions in Belgium, Croatia, Italy, England, Finland and France.
The past President, the late Fatima Khan, started the club in 1975 to further the interests of figure skating in the Western Cape and to provide the community, especially the youth with a creative outlet and interest. For a decade Black Panther Figure Skating club was sponsoring 12 skaters from the S.O.S. Village in Thornton by giving them free figure-skating lessons.
